Minimum Age to Play

No Exceptions. No Workarounds.

vipph enforces a strict minimum age of 21 years for all registered players, in line with Malaysian gambling regulations. Age verification is conducted at Account registration and may be repeated at withdrawal. Providing a false date of birth is a serious breach of our Terms & Conditions and will result in immediate Account closure and forfeiture of all balances. There are no exceptions and no workarounds.

Gambling Should Always Be Your Choice

Responsible gambling means staying in control of when you play, how much you spend, and how long you stay at the tables — whether that is live baccarat, football betting on the EPL or Liga Super Malaysia, or spinning slots at 2am in your Petaling Jaya apartment.

For the overwhelming majority of players, gaming on vipph is exactly what it is designed to be: a recreational activity. It carries the same kind of entertainment value as going to a live sports event or watching a UFC card with friends. The money you spend is the cost of that entertainment, and keeping it proportional to your budget is the core principle of responsible gambling.

Problems can arise when gambling crosses from entertainment into a coping mechanism — when it stops being fun and starts feeling like an obligation, a way to recover losses, or something you hide from people around you. vipph's responsible gambling programme is built to help you stay on the right side of that line, and to provide practical support if you feel you may be crossing it.

The tools and resources on this page are available to every vipph player from the moment you register — no special request needed, no judgement attached. We encourage you to explore them even if you feel you are currently in full control. Setting a deposit limit before you need one is far more effective than trying to set one in the heat of the moment.

Signs of Healthy Gambling
  • You set a budget before you start playing and you stick to it — whether that is RM 50 or RM 500.
  • You think of what you wager as the cost of entertainment, not an investment with an expected return.
  • You are comfortable stopping when your session budget runs out, even if you are on a losing run.
  • You do not gamble to chase losses or to recover money lost in previous sessions.
  • Your gambling activity does not affect your work, relationships, finances, or mental wellbeing.
  • You are open about your gambling activity with people close to you and do not feel the need to conceal it.
  • You take regular breaks and do not feel compelled to gamble when you are stressed, tired, or upset.

Tools Available in Every Account

Every vipph player has access to these tools from day one — no request required, no waiting period, no judgement. We recommend setting limits as a habit, not a last resort.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum deposit amount on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Once your limit is reached, no further deposits will be accepted for that period — regardless of what method you use, whether DuitNow, Touch 'n Go eWallet, FPX, or any other option. Reducing a limit takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit is subject to a mandatory 7-day cooling-off period to protect you from impulsive decisions.

Loss Limits

Define the maximum amount in MYR that you are comfortable losing over a rolling daily, weekly, or monthly period. Once your loss limit is reached, your Account is automatically locked for the remainder of that period. This is one of the most effective tools for preventing loss chasing — a pattern that frequently drives problem gambling behaviour.

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration — from 15 minutes to 8 hours. When your session time expires, you will be logged out of the Platform automatically. This tool is particularly useful for players who tend to lose track of time during long live dealer or slots sessions. Combine it with reality checks for maximum effect.

Reality Checks

Enable regular pop-up notifications at intervals you choose — every 30 minutes, every hour, or every 2 hours. Each check shows you exactly how long you have been playing, how much you have deposited, and your net win or loss position for that session. Many players find these simple prompts are enough to encourage a considered break or session end.

Cooling-Off Period

Request a cooling-off break of 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. During this period your Account remains open but all deposit and gambling functions are suspended. This is ideal when you feel you need a short pause without committing to full self-exclusion. Cooling-off periods cannot be shortened once activated — they run for their full duration.

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is the most powerful tool available. Choose a short-term exclusion of 1 to 6 months, or opt for permanent exclusion. During any self-exclusion period, your Account is fully suspended — deposits, play, and withdrawals of Bonus Funds are blocked. Permanent exclusion is irrevocable for a minimum of 5 years. Contact our support team to activate self-exclusion immediately via live chat, 24/7.

All responsible gambling tools are free and available 24/7. To access them, log in to your vipph Account and navigate to Account Settings → Responsible Gambling. Alternatively, contact our live chat support team at any time — our agents are trained to help you activate any tool instantly and without judgement.

When Gambling Stops Being Fun: Signs to Watch For

Problem gambling does not announce itself — it tends to develop gradually, often starting with small habit shifts that are easy to rationalise. Being aware of the early warning signs is the most effective form of self-protection.

The signs below are not diagnostic criteria. They are practical prompts. If one or more of them resonates with how you have been feeling about your gambling lately, it may be worth pausing and using one of the tools available in your vipph Account, or reaching out to one of the support organisations listed on this page.

Acknowledging a concern early — before it becomes a crisis — is the most effective time to seek support. There is no shame in using the tools and resources available to you. That is exactly what they are here for.

If you recognise several of these signs in yourself, we strongly encourage you to activate a cooling-off period or self-exclusion via your Account settings, and to reach out to one of the support services listed below. Seeking help early makes a meaningful difference to outcomes.

01

Chasing Losses: You find yourself continuing to play or increasing bet sizes specifically to recover money lost in a previous session — telling yourself you just need "one good run" to get back to even.

02

Spending Beyond Your Means: You are depositing money that was allocated for rent, bills, groceries, or other essential expenses in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, or wherever you live — and justifying it as a temporary situation.

03

Concealing Your Activity: You are hiding your gambling activity from family members, partners, or close friends — lying about how much you deposit, how often you play, or whether you are gambling at all.

04

Gambling to Escape: You are turning to gambling specifically when you are stressed, anxious, depressed, or bored — using it as emotional regulation rather than entertainment.

05

Unable to Stop: You have tried to cut down or stop gambling and found you could not maintain it — the urge to play returned stronger than your resolve to take a break.

06

Neglecting Responsibilities: Your gambling sessions are affecting your work performance, your relationships, your sleep patterns, or your mental health in ways you are starting to notice.

07

Borrowing to Gamble: You have borrowed money — from friends, family, or financial products — specifically to fund gambling activity, or you are considering doing so.

08

The Thrill Is Gone, But You Keep Going: Gambling no longer feels fun or exciting, but you continue anyway — out of habit, compulsion, or the inability to imagine your evenings without it.

Ask Yourself These Questions

This checklist is not a clinical tool — it is a simple self-reflection exercise. If you find yourself answering "yes" to multiple questions, it may be a signal worth taking seriously.

Q1

Have you ever spent more money on gambling than you originally planned to within a single session or week?

Q2

Have you ever lied to someone close to you about how much you gamble, or whether you gamble at all?

Q3

Do you find yourself thinking about gambling frequently when you are doing other things — at work, during meals, or when trying to sleep?

Q4

Have you ever gambled with money set aside for rent, food, utility bills, or other essential expenses?

Q5

Have you tried to stop or significantly cut down your gambling, and found it difficult or impossible to maintain that decision?

Q6

Do you gamble more when you are feeling stressed, anxious, lonely, or unhappy — using it as a way to cope or escape?

Q7

Have you ever continued gambling after losing in an attempt to win the money back — staying longer than intended or depositing more than planned?

Q8

Has your gambling activity had a negative impact on your relationships, your job, your finances, or your overall mental wellbeing?

If you answered "yes" to two or more questions, we encourage you to reach out — either to our support team via live chat, or to one of the independent support organisations listed below. Taking the first step is always the hardest. You do not need to be in crisis for your concern to be valid.

How We Uphold Responsible Gambling

Responsible gambling is not a department at vipph — it is a standard that runs through every team, every product decision, and every customer interaction. We do not treat responsible gambling as a compliance requirement that we check off a list. We treat it as a core obligation to the players who trust us with their time and money.

Our responsible gambling programme is reviewed and updated on a regular basis in response to industry best practices, player feedback, and emerging research on gambling harm prevention. We work to ensure that the programme remains effective and accessible for all Malaysian players, regardless of whether they are in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, or any other part of the country.

  • Mandatory 21+ Age Verification: Every new Account goes through age verification at registration. Further verification checks may be triggered at the point of first withdrawal or upon detection of any suspicious age-related indicator.
  • Algorithmic Problem Gambling Detection: vipph's platform monitors player behaviour patterns — rapid increases in deposit frequency, session duration spikes, sharp escalations in bet size — and flags accounts that show risk profiles consistent with early-stage problem gambling for proactive outreach by our support team.
  • Trained Support Staff: All vipph customer support agents receive responsible gambling training as part of their onboarding and undergo annual refresher training. Every agent knows how to handle a responsible gambling conversation sensitively and effectively.
  • Responsible Gambling Messaging: Age restriction notices, responsible gambling reminders, and links to this page are included in platform login screens, deposit prompts, and bonus communications throughout the Platform.
  • No Predatory Bonus Design: vipph does not send targeted promotional offers to players who have recently activated responsible gambling tools, are in a cooling-off period, or have previously requested self-exclusion.
  • Terms That Protect Players: Our Terms & Conditions include explicit responsible gambling clauses. We have committed to not reversing player-initiated self-exclusion requests during their active period under any commercial pressure.
